To be fair, the Starmie animations from PBR as well as any Gen I and II Pokemon are taken straight from the Pokemon Stadium games, with a few specific exceptions as well as having to also add running animations, which were from Nintendo and Nintendo EAD. That said, I feel like the animations in the Gen VI games were more because of the limitations of the 3DS. I don't know if you remember playing the games back then, but if you tried battling in 3D mode, the framerate dropped DRASTICALLY, and the livelier animations would have looked terrible in that context. They likely won't admit it, but I'm sure that's the reason. And with Pokemon being an annual franchise (unfortunately), they probably couldn't be bothered to rework the animations of 860+ models counting regional forms, Unown forms, etc. when Gen VIII came around. Soulless, absolutely. But I think there's a reason for it. Flying Pokemon could have still been a bit better though. I've also grown more okay with the simpler attack animations because of how much longer the gameplay would be if you had to see it every time. Again, there are several moves they could have improved on though.

I recently heard a fan theory about why Samus doesn’t talk until she meets a Chozo. (And no I’m not talking about Other M, can we just agree to delete that from our minds?) Samus doesn’t speak because she can’t. Well she can, obviously, but she can’t speak in English or whatever the Metroid equivalent is. Remember, Ridley killed Samus Aran’s parents when she was young, along with the rest of her colony. She was then adopted by the Chozo, who were made nearly extinct. She’s alone, and she can’t even describe her plight in a language most people will understand.

I can't be the only one who wishes he could see Genius Sonority's take on the hundreds of Pokemon that have come into being from Gen 4 onward. Or would it be Gen 5 onward? Was that Pokemon Stadium successor for the Wii made by Genius Sonority? Or did it at the very least have animations at the standard set by them?

I recommend playing a mod called Renegade Platinum. Makes the game way harder, more appealing to look and overall way more fun.
